INTERNATIONAL ECONOMIC FORUM CAMEROON-CANADA

Supporting Actors to entrepreneurship;
Port authorities in both countries.

DATES AND VENUES: FROM 09 TO 17 JUNE 2025 IN CANADA

The Forum will take place in three major Canadian cities:

MONTREAL: First stage of the Forum, focusing on the agri-food, craft, and technology sectors.
OTTAWA Intermediate stage: strategic discussions on economic and institutional partnerships, with a particular focus on municipal partnerships and
TORONTO Closing of the Forum, with presentations on innovative technologies and investment opportunities, and time for sightseeing at Niagara Falls.


SELECTION CRITERIA

The selection will be made by a joint committee made up of the Forum's promoters, representatives of the ministries, chambers and consultative bodies of the economic sectors concerned (SMEs, decentralization, agri- food, textiles and crafts, technologies, port activities), following the guidelines of the Cameroon government and in compliance with Canadian laws.

FOR SMEs

Sector of activity: Priority to the agri-food, textile, technology, craft, municipal trade, and municipal capacity-building sectors.
Export capacity: Export potential or experience.
Impact and innovation: Innovative projects or products with a social or economic impact.
Representation capacity: Qualified representatives to effectively promote the products.
Sufficient guarantees of credibility: Project leaders, financial resources.

FOR MUNICIPALITIES

Commitment to decentralized cooperation: partnership projects or international exchanges.
Experience in local economic development: business support programmes or development initiatives.
Interest in collaboration and training for elected representatives and local officials: long- term partnerships with Canada.
Rural or peri-urban municipalities: These municipalities will benefit most from the planned partnerships, as many of them have no twinning agreement to date.

STRUCTURE AND ACTIVITIES OF THE FORUM

The Forum will take the form of plenary sessions, thematic workshops and B2B meetings:
Plenary sessions: Opening speeches, conferences with experts and government representatives.
Thematic workshops: Small group discussions by key sector (agri-food, crafts, textiles, technology, municipal exchanges).
Turnkey projects: Companies will benefit from adequate preparation to ensure that they arrive at the Forum with projects ready for financing, and they will meet with Canadian companies who can also propose projects for implementation in Cameroon.
B2B Meetings and Networking: Space for direct meetings between Canadian and Cameroonian companies to explore partnership opportunities.
Exhibition / Showroom “Made in Cameroon”: Presentation of the products and services of participating companies in the agri-food, textile, craft, and technology sectors.

Investment opportunities identified and realized through bilateral initiatives.
Turnkey projects for Cameroonian companies.
Promotion of start-ups and female entrepreneurship by by highlighting the role of women entrepreneurs in Cameroon and Canada.

The main indicators of success are as follows: Number of participants, sales volume, compliance with disbursement/collection schedules and participant satisfaction.

After the Forumparticipating companies and town halls will enjoy the following benefits:

Three months’ free support dedicated to monitoring partnerships with Canadian companies, i.e. until 15 September 2025.
Registration at a preferential rate (10% discount) for future events.

A Final Report and a full Financial Statement will be drawn up and sent to the various stakeholders at the end of the Forum. These analysis reports will be used to measure the extent to which financial and organizational objectives have been achieved and to better prepare for future editions.
